From Associated Press, March 23rd, 1999

TOLEDO, Ohio -- Paul Toth, who formerly pitched for the Chicago Cubs and St. Louis Cardinals, has died at age 63.

Toth, who lived in Erie, Mich., died of a heart attack Saturday while visiting his brother in Anaheim, Calif., said William Toth, the brother.

A right-hander, Toth had a 4-1 record with St. Louis in 1962 and was traded to Chicago in 1963, where he went 5-11 over two years.

He also spent time in the Chicago White Sox and New York Yankees' farm systems. Toth ended his career with the Toledo Mud Hens in 1966 when a knee injury forced him from the game.

Toth was born in Kentucky but moved with his family to Youngstown when he was 11. A scout for the Cardinals saw him play at East High School in Youngstown.

Survivors include sons Paul Jr., Steve and Michael; and daughter Nancy Wlodarski. A memorial service will be Thursday in Anaheim.
