Man Meets Death Under Car Wheels

ER Taylor, Blacksmith, Killed by Car at Akard & Corinth Streets

Crushed beneath the wheels of inbound Akard street car No. 23 last night, E.R. Taylor, aged thirty-four, a blacksmith, was instantly killed. His body was terribly mangled as the result of having been grounded beneath the heavy trucks.

According to the car crew, Conductor JC Mathis & Motorman D.D. Yaw, Taylor stepped from behind a billboard and ran across Corinth street directly in front of the car. The motorman applied the brakes but the impetus of the car carried it forward and struck the man, knocking him down.

Dr. WW Samuels automobile ambulance was summoned
but when it arrived the man was found to be dead. The body was accordingly transferred to the Ed C. Smith Undertaking Co.

Taylor, who is single, lived with his mother, Mrs. A.V.
Taylor, at Hall & Colby streets. He is survived by his mother, 6 sisters and 2 brothers.
