SEWARD
Frank M. Age 83, passed away on April 12, 2004 at the Arnot-Ogden Medical Center. He was born on April 7, 1921 to Mathilda and William Seward in Pennsauken, NJ, the youngest of five children. Frank attended Duke University on a baseball scholarship and went on to pitch for the NY Giants & San Francisco Seals, helping the Seals win the 1946 pennant. Frank was Vice President and General Manager of National Homes in Horseheads, NY, and founded the Regional Housing Council in Elmira. He is survived by Florence, his loving wife of 56 years; adoring daughters, Nancy and Kim; son-in-law, Jake Laughner; special cousin, Bobby Martin and wife, Teddy; sisters-in-law, Ethel and Peggy Seward; and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews. Those who knew and loved him will remember his kindness, courage, humor and grace. The family wishes to express heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate doctors, nurses and hospital staff who cared for him throughout his illness. At his request, there will be no calling hours or funeral services. In lieu of flowers, a donation in his memory may be made to the West Elmira Branch of the Steele Memorial Library, 1231 W. Water St., Elmira, NY 14905. Arrangements were entrusted to the Kalec Funeral Home.
