Norman John Schlueter,
88, of Belleville, Ill., born Sept. 25, 1916, in Belleville, Ill., died
Wednesday, Oct. 6, 2004, at St. Elizabeth's Hospital, Belleville, Ill.
Mr. Schlueter was employed by Owens Illinois Corrugated Sales, was a
Belleville police officer, and a professional baseball player for the
Chicago White Sox and the Cleveland Indians. He was a manager for the
Belleville American Legion baseball team. Mr. Schlueter was a member
of Elks Club of Belleville, Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Chapel.
He was preceded in death by is parents, John and Carrie, nee Meyer,
Schlueter.
Surviving are his wife, Lillian, nee Nold, Schlueter; three children,
Bill (Margaret) Schlueter of Fairview Heights, Ill., Linda (Phil) Lawrence
of Iowa City, Iowa, and Barbara Kuenne of Irvine, Calif.; five grandchildren,
Chris Reid, Jill Kuenne, Susan (John) Cox, Pamela (Kevin) Sawatzky and
Michael (Kellie) Schlueter; eight great-grandchildren, Courtney, Brian
and Devin Cox, Cory and Josh Reid, Paige and Taylor Sawatzky and Reagan
Schlueter; and a brother, Clarence (Lillian) Schlueter of Belleville,
Ill.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or the Alzheimer's
Association.

Mass will be held at 11:15 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 18, 2004, at the Shrine
of Our Lady of the Snows Apartment Community Chapel, Belleville, Ill.,
and a memorial service will be held at 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 18.
