WAYNE G. McLELAND born August 29, 1924 in Stockport , Iowa, died May 9, 2004. Son of Harry and Blanche McLeland; brother of Ronald & Carroll McLeland, Loving husband of Lois McLeland, Lovin g father of Ronald McLeland of Kingswood, Texas and Kenneth McLeland of Newcastle, Washington; Loving grandfather of Brian & Katie McLeland. After growing up in Iowa and serving in the Army in WWII, he spent thirteen years as a professional baseball player for the Detroit Tigers and St. Louis Cardinals. 1950 Texas Pitcher of the Year. He worked at Goodyear Tire and Rubber Plant for 35 years. Visitations will be from 7:00 till 9:00 P.M. Tuesday , May 11 , 2004 at the Crowder Funeral Home Chapel, 111 E. Medical Center Blvd. ,Webster, Texas. Graveside service will be Wednesday, May 12, at 12:00 Noon at Forest Park Lawndale, 6900 Lawndale , Houston, Texas. Memorial Contributions may be made to M. D.
