Donald E. "Ducky" LeJohn, 70, of California, Pa., died Friday,
Feb. 25, 2005. He was born May 13, 1934, in Daisytown, the son of the
late George and Theresa Maruschak LeJohn. Ducky was admired and respected
by all who knew him.
He was a member of the Monongahela Valley F&AM
Lodge 461, American Legion JFK Post 377 of California, and the Association
of Professional Ball Players of America. Mr. LeJohn was an avid sportsman
and loved hunting and fishing.
He spent his career with the Los Angeles
Dodgers as a player, manager, and finally as a scout. The pinnacle of
his career was playing in the 1965 World Series. Ducky and his wife
Irene had just celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Jan. 15,
2005.
In addition to his wife, Irene Huber LeJohn, left to cherish his
memory are their children, Donnie E. LeJohn Jr. and wife Theresa of
Lexington, S.C.; Leslie Scott and Angie LeJohn of Daisytown, and Jody
A. LeJohn of West Brownsville; nine grandchildren, Matthew, Lauren,
Jamie, Renah, Scott Michael, Allie and Julia LeJohn, and Sydney and
Morgan Lifchez: a nephew, Todd Edwards, and numerous other nieces and
nephews.
Friends will be received in the MARISCOTTI FUNERAL HOME INC.,
Anthony N. Mariscotti, Supervisor, 323 Fourth St., California, Pa.,
on Monday, Feb. 28, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., at which time services
will be held in the funeral home with the Rev. Jana Quisenberry officiating.
