Thomas Edward Herrin The Shreveport
Times Visitation will be Thursday, December 2, 1999 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the funeral home in Haynesville, LA. Mr. Herrin died Monday, November 29, 1999 at 9:25 p.m. in the Homer Memorial Hospital after a long illness. He was a native of Shreveport, LA and a resident of Haynesville, LA. He was an avid sportsman playing baseball, basketball, and tennis while attending college at Louisiana Tech University. He won a state championship in tennis while attending LA Tech. Later he played semi-pro basketball in the Gulf States Conference and signed with the Boston Red Sox as a major league pitcher in 1949 for seven years. After baseball he went into marketing in California and Florida. He loved saltwater fishing. He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Jewel K. Herrin of Haynesville, LA and one brother, Mr. H. D. "Dave" Herrin also of Haynesville, LA. |
