Chester Hajduk, age 87, WWII U.S. Navy Veteran. Beloved husband of the late Columbia; loving father of Carol (John) Teschky, Christine (Robert) Hager, Craig (Lynn), Cary (Donna) and Cindy Hajduk; dearest grandfather of John IV (Claudia) Teschky, Scott (Michelle) Teschky, Pamela (Howard III) Franzen, Amy (Brian) Ahern, Chad (Tracy) Hager, Christopher Hajduk, Kyle Hajdul, April Hajduk (Ali Zaimi), Darcy Hajduk and the late Hunter Hajduk; cherished great-grandfather of Emma, Jaden, Howard IV, Brady, Collin, Alex and Taylor; dear brother of Thaddeus Hajduk and the late John Hajduk; fond uncle of many.

Visitation Friday, 3 to 9 p.m. at Skaja Terrace Funeral Home, 7812 N. Milwaukee Ave., Niles. Funeral Saturday, 9 a.m. to St. Mary of the Woods Church for 10 a.m. Mass. Interment Maryhill Cemetery. He was Past Commander of Norwood Zurek AMVETS Post 36, Past President of N.W. Builders Assoc.,

Past President of the Niles Men's Senior Club. Member of the Fr. Ryan K.O.C. Council, Chicago Model Engineer's Assoc., IL Live Steamers, Chicago Society, and the Major League Baseball Players Alumni.

Chet was a professional Baseball Player chosen to the Service All Star Team in 1943. Developed his skills and love of carpentry and woodworking, becoming a self employed custom home builder.  

In his retirement, became passionate with the workings of live steam engines and designed and built his own working scale model.
