   TUNICA, Miss. (AP) Paul Gregory, who once struck out Babe Ruth as a member of the Chicago White Sox, died Thursday of heart failure. He was 91.

   Gregory was also a former Mississippi State baseball and basketball coach, and a three-sport letterman at Mississippi State.

   After serving in the Navy during World War II, Gregory's coaching career began in 1947 when he was asked by his former Mississippi State baseball coach Dudy Noble, also the school's athletic director, to coach the Bulldogs basketball team.

   Gregory led the Bulldogs baseball team to a 328-200-1 record and 15 winning seasons from 1957-74, including four Southeastern Conference titles and the 1971 College World Series.

   While with the White Sox in 1932 and 1933, Gregory was just 9-14 with a 4.72 ERA. In one game he retired Ruth five times, including once by strikeout
