Harold E. Gill, Well Known in Athletics, Dies

     Harold E. Gill, formerly well known in sports, died this morning at the Ducy Hospital, where he submitted an operation for appendicitis this week. He was the son of Mary A. (Morey) and the late Michael H. Gill and his home was at 63 Arlington Street. Besides his mother he leaves three brothers, Francis M. and Charles E. Gill, both of this city, and Henry C. Gill of Alexandria, Egypt.
     Harold Gill was formerly a well known baseball pitcher, dating back to his High School days. At Exeter Academy he made good and was captain of the baseball team. Later he pitched for the Holy Cross team, and still later played with the Cincinnati Nationals until his health failed.
     He was a member of Seville Council, K. of C., Brockton Lodge, B.P.O.E., and James M. Curley Club, Campello Veteran Firemen's Association, and the Wampatuck Club.
     The funeral will take place Wednesday morning at St. Patrick's Church and interment will be in Calvary Cemetery.
