NORWICH, Conn. (AP) - Augustine J. ``Lefty'' Dugas, the first Canadian-born baseball player in the major leagues, died Monday after suffering a stroke two weeks ago. He was 90.

  The Quebec-born right fielder, whose family settled in Connecticut, played four seasons during the 1930s and 1940s with Pittsburgh and Philadelphia of the National League and Washington of the American League.

  Dugas hit .206, had three home runs and 23 RBIs in 218 times at bat in the majors. 

  He ended his career in 1943.

  In 1977, he threw out the first pitch to open Olympic Stadium, home of the Montreal Expos.
