| "Albert Joseph Bradley, well-known machinist of the Altoona works and a former local baseball star, died at his home at 6:25
o'clock last evening after two weeks' illness. Mr Bradley retired from the railroad company service in May of 1927, after having been employed for a period of 52 years and 8 months. As a young man he was a member of the Mountain City baseball team and was a remarkable player. He was born on May 23, 1856 in Brady's Bend, Armstrong County, a son of James and Ann (Harkins) Bradley, but had spent almost all his life in Altoona, his parents having built the home in which his death occured. Surviving are his wife, Stella Regina (Smith) Bradley; 3 daughters: Misses Mary Bradley, a member of the Mercy hospital supervisory staff, Anna Marie, and Stella, at home, and a number of nieces The body may be viewed at the home after 6 o'clock this evening. The funeral will be held Tuesday morning with a requiem mass at 9 oclock in Mt. Carmel Church. Internment will be made in Calvary Cemetery. |
