Anthony "Nino"
Bongiovanni Dec. 21, 1911 - Jan. 6, 2009 Anthony "Nino" Bongiovanni
passed away peacefully at the age of 97 in his home in San Jose the
morning of January 6th. He was a dedicated parent and family man.
He was both a local athletic star and enjoyed a 13 year professional/Major
league baseball career.
Nino served his country in the Air Force during WWII, was a business
owner and a longtime employee of the Santa Clara Unified School District.
Nino is survived by his loving wife Dora, of 60 years, his children
Linda (Gardner) and husband Pat, Terry, and Dan and his wife Peggy,
his grandchildren Greg and wife Crystal, Brett and wife Meghan, Briana,
Nicole, and Tony and his great granddaughters, Maia and Rachel.
He will also be deeply missed by his sister-in-law Red Weber and husband
Bob, their sons Ken, Ron and wife Dolly, and their sons Lee and Austin.
We will miss his unique, colorful humor and appreciate the simple traditional
manner by which he lived his life.
