Loving Memory of VICTOR HUGO BERNAL Oct. 6, 1953 - Sept. 2, 2006
Born in Los Angeles to loving parents, Marina and Jess Bernal. He leaves
his parents, his wife, Kathy, sons, Andrew and Matthew, sister, Marina
Delagarza (George) nephews, George Jr. JJ and Mikey. Brother David (Denise)
nephew David and niece Marissa Victoria. Extended family and many friends.
Victor graduated from Cal Poly Pomona with a BS in physical education
and received his masters in Education Administration from Azusa Pacific
University. Victor was an exceptional athletic and while attending Cal
Poly Pomona he played baseball under John Scolinos and was honored to
be selected to the United States College All Star baseball team and
pitched against the Japanese team.
He was drafted by the San Diego Padres baseball team and played professional
baseball including the Major leagues. Victor was a teacher/coach for
Mountain View high school in El Monte for over twenty-three years. He
was also the varsity pitching coach for the Glendora High School baseball
team. Vic was very involved with a talented baseball team, The Glendora
Rebels. his passions in life were his family and friends, sports especially
baseball golf and magic. he was a member of the Santa Anita Men's Golf
association.
Victor was a teacher and coach of various sports and had a profound
effect on many individuals, young and old alike and he will be truly
missed by his family and friends. A Memorial service will be held on
Saturday September 9, 2006 at 2:30PM at Annunciation Catholic Church.
