Bakenhaster, age 69, of Galena, OH, passed away peacefully on Wednesday,
July 30, 2014. Retired from Exel Logistics after 35 years of service.
Graduate of Dublin High School, Class of 1963 where he was an All-State
Baseball Pitcher.
David was the #1 overall draft pick in 1963 and enjoyed his 10 year baseball
career with the St. Louis Cardinals. Veteran U.S. Army.
Preceded in death by parents James Montford and Lora (Jenkins) Bakenhaster,
brothers Paul, Bill and Charlie. Survived by loving wife of 39 years,
Kay Harr Bakenhaster; and Dennis "Bo" Bakenhaster his nephew/son.
He will be greatly missed by his sisters, Geneva Hunt and Norma Bricker;
brothers, Walter and Ronnie; many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Friday, August 1, 2014 at Kauber-Sammons Funeral
Home, 289 S. Main Street, Pataskala, OH 43062, where Funeral Service will
be held 10 a.m. Saturday.
Interment Jersey Universalist Cemetery.
