SURMAN - Ruby Ann (nee
Stoykovich) Surman, died at 74 on December 15, 2008 after a short but
valiant battle with cancer.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Eugene. She is survived
by her children, Lisa (Tim) Haight, Kathy (Mike) Townes, Colleen Mox (Steve
Neuman), and Joe Surman; grandchildren, Elizabeth, Sarah, Michael, Jake,
Nick, Mitchell, Emily, and Hayden; great-grandchildren, Andrew and Brayden;
sister, Lucille (Gary) Petersen; brother, Mike (Chris) Stoykovich; sisters-in-law,
Mary Stoykovich and Mary Anne Surman; and brothers-in-law, Jerry (Pat)
Surman and Jim (Lu) Surman.
Ruby was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who was active in her church
and had a passion for fishing and sports, highlighted by playing two seasons
with the Grand Rapids Chicks.
A Celebration of her life will be held on Thursday, December 18, at 10
a.m. at Faith Hospice - Trillium Woods Chapel, 8214 Pfeiffer Farms Dr.
S.W., Byron Center, MI 49315. Family will receive visitors one hour prior
to the Mass.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Faith Hospice
